Assignment 2: Select the Intervention (25 points)
For this assignment, you will utilize the annotated ecomap & self-reflection you completed for your client as the basis from which to research and select a clinical evidence-based intervention you will utilize to ensure that your client receives services that are responsive to their identified needs and identities. The intervention should be one that has been/will be covered in this course (see course outline).
In addition to the course textbook, your research must consist of finding and citing at least two peer-reviewed journal articles that support your recommendations for the evidence-based intervention you selected.
This paper will include the following:
Discuss Alike’s presenting problem and clinical/therapeutic needs
Identify the evidence-based intervention you selected
Describe the intervention and why it is appropriate for your work with Alike
Discuss the content, core themes, and session breakdown (if applicable) of the intervention
Discuss the research you found that helped support your decision to use this intervention with your client
Describe any limitations of the research related to Alike’s intersecting identities. Discuss if/how the intervention is culturally responsive to your client (and caregivers, if appropriate). What questions did the researchers not ask? What did they miss or not talk about? Who were the participants in the research?
Reflect on & discuss how will you avoid developing an intervention based on bias and stereotype. How will you resist autopilot and be mindful as you think through utilizing this intervention?
